Shaw's Supermarkets Recalls 'Shaw's Taco Dinner' and 'Shaw's Hard Taco Shells'

West Bridgewater, MA (SafetyAlerts) - Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc. has announced it is voluntarily removing from sale Shaw's Taco Dinners and Shaw's Hard Taco Shells at all Shaw's and Star Market store locations. The move was prompted by a public recall by the supplier of the products, Mission Foods.

Mission Foods issued the notice October 14, 2000 because of the possibility that the products may contain StarLink, a corn not approved for human consumption.

Shaw's is advising consumers who purchased the Taco Dinner and/or Hard Taco Shells may bring the product back to the store for a full refund. Customers who have questions or concerns about the recall can contact Shaw's Consumer Response Center's toll free number, 1-888-431-7429.
