WA (SafetyAlerts) - Jensen's
Smokehouse Inc. is recalling its random weight (approx. 8 oz.) packages of its Jensen's
Seattle Style Smoked King Salmon because it may be contaminated with Listeria
The recalled Smoked King Salmon was distributed through retail grocery stores in western
Washington. The product, in 8 oz. clear plastic packages with a dark green label and a
white sticker bearing the lot number 000623 on the back.
No illnesses had been reported to
date in connection with this problem.
The potential for contamination was
discovered after routine testing by the Washington State Department of Agriculture
revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in a package of Jensen's Seattle Smoked
The Food and Drug Administration and
the company continue to investigat the source of the problem.
Consumers who have purchased the
product with lot #000623 are urged to return the product to the point of purchase for a
full refund. Questions may be directed to the company at 800-713-8495.
This recall applies only to product bearing Jensen's Seattle label.
