Pillsbury Bread Recalled for Undeclared Allergen
City, MO (SafetyAlerts) - Interstate
Brands West Corporation has announced that it is recalling 605 loaves of Pillsbury 24oz
wheat bread distributed in the Las Vegas, NV market area on September 18th and 19th.
The bread contains soy fiber and is normally packaged in a bag that declares soy fiber on
the ingredient legend. The product that was distributed on Monday and Tuesday however was
packaged in a new bag that did not include soy fiber on the ingredient legend. Soy is an
allergen that affects a small percentage of the population.
All the product that remained on food store shelves was picked up Wednesday September 20,
2000. No other varieties of Pillsbury breads are affected by this recall and all Pillsbury
bread distributed after Thursday September 21st will be properly labeled.
