FL (SafetyAlerts) - Publix Super
Markets has announced they are voluntarily recalling 16-oz. and 32-oz. sizes of its New
York Style Potato Salad because the salad was found to be contaminated with Salmonella
during routine testing. The product was distributed to stores in Florida, Georgia, South
Carolina and Alabama, and is described as:
Publix "Deli Quick Takes" New York Style Potato Salad,
16-oz. and 32-oz., Use By Aug 26
Publix advised in a press release that all stores had been told to pull all of this
product, and that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had been contacted. The company
stated they are confident they had pulled the 'majority' of the product, but a chance
existed that some of the product had been purchased.
Customers who purchased the affected product from any Publix store in are being advised to
return it to their nearest Publix store for a full refund or product replacement.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with this product.
