NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Shata Trading Inc. is recalling certain Three
Rivers brand Coconut products because the products contained undeclared sulfites.
This is the first public notice of
this Class III
recall issued by FDA.
a) Three Rivers brand Coconut Slice, in 7-ounce (200gm) flexible plastic
b) Three Rivers brand Coconut, in 7-ounce (200gm) flexible plastic packages.
Shata Trading, Inc., Brooklyn, New York.
Repacker, by visit April 13, 2000. **Completed field correction (relabeling) resulted from
sample analysis and follow-up by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
**Completed recall: While the FDA has completed
processing of this particular recall, it does not mean this particular product has been
fully accounted for.
New York and New Jersey.
Approximately 100 cases (24 packages per case) were distributed.
