Drug Administration (FDA) said today that BCN Trading Corporation is recalling its Asian
Boy (EBQ) brand Lotus Rootlet in Brine, in 15-ounce glass jars because the product
contains undeclared sulfites.
This is the first public notice of
this Class I
recall issued by FDA.

BCN Trading Corporation, Brooklyn, New York, by letter and press release on
February 18, 2000. **Completed recall resulted from sample analysis and follow-up by the
New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
**Completed recall: While the FDA has completed
processing of this particular recall, it does not mean this particular product has been
fully accounted for.
New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, District of
50 cases (24 jars per case) were distributed.
