'Celebrity' Chunk Light Tuna in Water Recalled

Elizabeth, NJ (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reported that Atlanta Corporation is conducting a recall of its Celebrity Chunk Light Tuna in Water because the product was associated with scombroid poisoning illness.

This is the first public notice of this Class II recall issued by FDA.

Celebrity Chunk Light Tuna in Water, in 66.5-ounce cans.

MAR Fishing Company, Recordo Zamboanga City, Phillipines.

Atlanta Corporation, Elizabeth, New Jersey, by telephone on August 1-3, 2000, and letter on August 3, 2000. Firm-initiated recall ongoing.

Western United States.

1,450 cases (6 cans per case) were distributed.
