Zilatone Laxative Tablets
Beach, VA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food
and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that The Heritage Store Inc. is conducting a
recall of certain Zilatone Laxative Tablets, because the products contain phenolphthalein
which is not generally recognized as safe and effective in over-the-counter stimulant
The recalled products are:
Zilatone Laxative Tablets,
(Phenolphthalein 32 mg per tablet), OTC in 50 tablet bottles and affects all lots with
expiration dates from EXP OCT 01 to EXP JUN 02.
Zilatone Laxative Digestive
Aid Tablets, Phenolphthalein 32 mg per tablet), OTC in 50 tablet bottles and
affects all lots with expiration dates prior to EXP OCT 01.

was initiated by telephone beginning on March 22, 2000. This is the first public notice
issued by the FDA.
