Leiner Health Products Inc. Recalls Saline Nasal Spray

Carson, CA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Leiner Health Products Inc. is conducting a recall of Saline Nasal Spray, OTC, because the products had discoloration and iron contamination.

The recalled Saline Nasal Spray comes in 1.5-ounce white bottles, under the labels of Albertson’s, Bi-Mart and Health Pride, all of which bear the Lot number: 9M97007.

FDA stated in its report that 30,732 units were distributed in Indiana, Oklahoma, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

This Class II recall was initiated by the company, by letter dated February 15, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA report stated that the company has completed all recall procedures.
