Afassco Brand Alcohol Prep Pad Recalled

Carson City, NV (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Afassco is conducting a recall of certain Afassco brand Alcohol Prep Pad, 70% Isopropyl Alcohol USP, antiseptic wipes, 24 swabs and 100 swabs per box, because of the lack of assurance of sterility on product received from Clinipad Corporation.

According to FDA, 282,528 units were distributed  nationwide and affects Order #626 and 2626 - all lot codes.

This ongoing Class II recall was initiated by the company, by letter mailed beginning on March 24, 2000, followed by telephone.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
