Gaylord Chemical Corporation Recalls Dimethyl Sulfoxide

Bogalusa, LA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Gaylord Chemical Corporation is conducting a recall of Dimethyl Sulfoxide, USP Grade DMSO (active ingredient bulk), 500 mL and 1 liter amber glass bottles, because of package integrity and product leakage.

The recalled product bears the Lot Numbers of USP990614, USP990727, and USP990817.

FDA stated in its report that 96 liters (232 pounds) were distributed nationwide and internationally.

This ongoing Class III recall was initiated by the company, by letter dated February 18, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
