Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream
NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Thames Pharmacal Company is conducting a
recall of Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP, 0.1%, in 15-gram tubes, because some of the
tubes are incorrectly labeled to contain Gentamicin Sulfate.
The recalled product bears the Lot
Number M793 EXP 3/03.
FDA stated in its report that 30,000
units were distributed in Florida, California, Michigan, New York, Georgia, Colorado,
Connecticut, North Carolina, Arkansas and Hawaii.
This ongoing Class III recall
was initiated by the company, by letter dated March 15, 2000. This is the first
public notice issued by the FDA.
