Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals Recalls Phosphate Topical Solution

Morton Grove, IL (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals is conducting a recall of Clindamycin Phosphate Topical Solution, USP, 1%, because of one degradant exceeded specification during stability testing.

The recalled Clindamycin Phosphate Topical Solution is packaged in 1-fluid ounce bottles - NDC #60432-693-30
and 2-fluid ounce bottles - NDC #60432-693-60.  This recall affects Lot Numbers: 21796 and 22334.

FDA stated in its report that over 8,000 bottles were distributed nationwide.  The firm estimated that less than 20 percent of the product remained.

This ongoing Class III recall was initiated by the company, by letter dated April 7, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
