Southern Welding Supply, Inc. Recalls Oxygen Cylinders

Marietta, GA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Southern Welding Supply, Inc. is recalling compressed oxygen cylinders because of current good manufacturing deviations including but not limited to failure to test each batch of oxygen for identity and purity prior to release.

The recalled compressed oxygen (USP) was sold in various sizes of steel and aluminum cylinders and were distributed in Georgia and South Carolina.  All lots are affected by this recall.

This Class II recall was initiated by Southern Welding Supply, Inc. by visit November 5, 1999.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA has stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
