Tropical Source Semi-Sweet and Espresso Roast Chocolate Chips
Hoboken, NJ (SafetyAlerts) - Cloud Nine Inc. has
today issued a recall of Tropical Source Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips and Tropical Source
Espresso Roast Chocolate Chips because the product contains a small amount of milk
protein, which is not declared on the ingredient label.
People with an allergy or sensitivity to dairy products run the risk of experiencing a
serious reaction if this product is consumed.
The recall affects all Tropical Source Semi-Sweet
Chocolate Chips and Tropical Source Espresso Roast Chocolate Chips sold in the United
States and Canada that in 1999. There is no expiration date on the recalled product.
Cloud Nine has taken steps to prevent this problem from reoccurring and has already
distributed new dairy-free Semi-Sweet and Espresso Roast chocolate chips. The
dairy-free products can be identified by a white-colored production Julian date, beginning
with the numbers 009, located on the back of the bag.
Persons with allergies to dairy are urged to avoid
any products from bulk bins and to await the new bagged products. Any of the
recalled products may be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.
