Gold Boy Brand Coloured Prawn Crackers Recalled

First public notice issued by FDA of 'completed recall'...

Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Tai Wing Hong Importer, Inc. is conducting a recall of Gold Boy brand Coloured Prawn Crackers because the product contains the uncertified color additives tartrazine (certifiable as FD&C Yellow No. 5), sunset yellow FCF (certifiable as FD&C Yellow No. 6), and brilliant blue FCF (certifiable as FD&C Blue No. 1); it also contains the unapproved color additive carmoisine.

Fushan China Sources (Group) Foodstuffs Corporation, Guangdong, China.

Tai Wing Hong Importer, Inc., Brooklyn, New York, by letter dated January 15, 2000. Completed recall resulted from sample analysis and follow-up by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.

New York, Massachusetts, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Missouri, Virginia, Connecticut, Tennessee.

266 cases (50 boxes per case) were distributed.
