Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Tuv Taam Corporation is conducting a recall
of Tuv Taam brand Olive Spread because the product contained undeclared sodium benzoate.
Tuv Taam brand Olive Spread in 7.5-ounce rigid plastic containers.
Recall #F-609-0. Class III
All codes on the market at time of recall initiation.
Tuv Taam Corporation, Brooklyn, New York.
Manufacturer, by letter on February 2, 2000. Completed field correction (relabeling)
resulted from sample analysis and follow-up by the New York State Department of
Agriculture and Markets. This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
New York and New Jersey.
Approximately 1,600 containers were distributed.
