Recalls Pimento Cheese Sandwiches
SC (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Grand Strand Sandwich Company is conducting
a recall of certain Pimento Cheese Sandwiches because the products are contaminated with
Pimento Cheese Sandwiches, packaged in 4-ounce black flexible plastic.
Recall #F- 575-0. Class I
Sell by dates of 2-18-00 through 03-01-00.
Grand Strand Sandwich Company, Longs, South Carolina.
Manufacturer, by visit on February 21, 2000. Firm-initiated recall complete. This is the
first public notice issued by the FDA.
North Carolina and South Carolina.
Approximately 2,262 sandwiches were distributed; firm estimates none remain on the market.
Product may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
