Lipton Noodles and Sauce, Butter Egg Noodles in a Butter Sauce Recalled

Englewood Cliffs, NJ (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Lipton is conducting a recall of certain Lipton Noodles and Sauce, Butter Egg Noodles in a Butter Sauce, in 4.5-ounce foil pouch, because the product was manufactured using onion powder found to be contaminated with Salmonella cerro.

According to FDA, 1,200 pouches were distributed in the northeastern United States.  The recalled products bear the lot number of OB02L*** (the last three digits vary).

This Class II recall was initiated by the company, by "Product Retrieval Notice" dated February 17, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA has stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
