Half Pints of Hiland Vitamin A & D Lowfat Milk, 1% Milkfat Recalled

Wichita, KS (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Hiland Dairy Foods Company has recalled certain Hiland Vitamin A & D Lowfat Milk, 1% Milkfat, in the half-pint size, because the product was contaminated with chlorine.

According to the FDA, the milk was distributed in Kansas.  This recall affects products coded with the expiration date of APR 09 and the Plant Code 20-434.  The firm estimates none remains on the market since the product expired.

This Class II recall was initiated by the company, by telephone or visits on April 3, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
