LaBree's Bakery Recalls Milk Chocolate Fruits and Nuts Recalled

Old Towne, ME (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that LaBree's Bakery is conducting a recall of certain 8" Single Layer Carrot Cake w/Creme Cheese Frosting (frozen), packed in rigid plastic containers (8 inch/25 ounce), because the product contains undeclared FD&C Blue No. 1

According to FDA, this recall affects all products manufactured up to 4/25/00.  Approximately 950 cases were distributed from 4/10/00 to 4/25/00 in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania.

People who have allergies to certain foods run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

This ongoing Class III recall was initiated by the company, by telephone on April 26, 2000..  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
