Pati Petite Cookies and Candies Recalled for Allergens

Bridgeville, PA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Pati Petite Cookies Inc. is recalling certain cookies and candies because the product contains undeclared nuts.

The recalled products are:

Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Cookies, in 5-pound package - undeclared peanuts.

Cinnamon Pecan Crescent Cookies, in 5-pound package - undeclared pecans.

Easter Assortment Cookies, in 5-pound package - undeclared peanuts, pecans, and almonds.

According to the FDA 24 cases were distributed in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas, Ohio and Canada. All lots of the listed products are affected by this recall.

People who have allergies to certain foods run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

This ongoing Class II recall was initiated by the company, by letter on April 20, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
