Allergy Alert - Daffinis Candies Contain Undeclared Allergen

Farrell, PA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Daffinis Candies Inc, is conducting a field correction to re-label its Daffinís Candies, in 1-pound containers because the product contains undeclared FD&C Red No. 40.

According to FDA all product manufactured since September 1999 are affected by the recall.  The product was distributed in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

People who have allergies to certain foods run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

FDA did not specify how the company notified its customers of this ongoing Class III recall, nor was it specified when the action began.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
