Allergy Alert - Certain Fancy Fruit Mix Contains Un-Declared Food Coloring Additives

Columbus, OH (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Tropical Nut & Fruit, Inc., is conducting a field correction to re-label  packages of its Fancy Fruit Mix product because the product contains un-declared FD&C Yellow No.6.

The product is packaged as identified as: Fancy Fruit Mix in 20-oz. plastic containers, 12 containers per shipping box, code 0800.

According to the FDA report the product was distributed in: New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.

People who have allergies to certain foods run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

This ongoing Class II recall was initiated by the company, by phone on April 13, 2000 and by FAX  on April 14, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
