Swedesboro, NJ (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Missa Bay Inc. is recalling Penne Pasta Salad
because the product contained undeclared sulfites.
The product was distributed in New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia in 5-ounce plastic cups, under the
WaWa Express brand and in 4-pound food service plastic tubs. The 5-ounce cubs have a
code of 0362 EXP 1/12/00 and 0365 EXP 1/15/00. The 4-pound tubs bear the codes of
0354 EXP 1/11/00 and 0362 EXP 1/19/00.
This Class II recall
was initiated by Missa Bay Inc., by telephone on or before January 7, 2000, and by visit
on or before January 19, 2000. This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
The FDA has stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
