Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Tai Wing Hong Importer Inc. is recalling Wing Kee
Lung brand Dried Lotus Root, packaged in 6-ounce flexible plastic bags, because the
product contained undeclared sulfites.
About 50 cases were distributed
in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania and other undetermined areas.
This Class I recall
was initiated by Tai Wing Hong Importer Inc., by allergy alert and letter November 30,
1999. This is the first public notice issued by the FDA. The FDA has stated
that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
