Cheese Dip Snack Kits Recalled
Dallas, TX (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Frito-Lay Inc., is recalling Tortilla Chips and
Cheese Dip Snack Kits containing a 1-7/8 ounce package of tortilla chips and a 4-1/2 ounce
container of cheese dip, because the product contains undeclared dairy ingredients,
FD&C Yellow No. 5 and FD&C Yellow No. 6.
About 6,000 kits were distributed
were distributed in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri,
Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. The firm estimated that 1,000 to 3,200 kits remained on
market at time of recall initiation. The kits have a the pull date code of
"Sell by - 30 May 00" and the Plant Code of 322205420.
This ongoing Class II recall
was initiated by Frito-Lay, by E-mail on March 17, 2000. This is the first public notice
issued by the FDA.
