Jagged Ice POWERaDE Recalled

Atlanta, GA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Coca Cola USA Operations is recalling Jagged Ice POWERaDE in 20-ounce bottles, because the product is contaminated with mold.

Almost 16,600 cases,  that bear the code 0012CC, were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington state, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

The recalled beverage was manufactured by the Minute Maid Company for Coca-Cola USA at United Packers, Inc. in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

This ongoing Class III recall was initiated by Coca-Cola, by letter issued on March 27, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
