Rugelah Sugar Free Recalled
Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Green & Ackerman Bakery Inc. is recalling
Greenís Homestyle Apricot Rugelah Sugar Free, in 8-ounce rigid plastic containers,
because the product contained undeclared FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Red No. 40,
potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate.
Approximately 100 8-ounce packages,
bearing no codes, were distributed in New York and New Jersey.
This Class II recall
was initiated by Green & Ackerman Bakery, Inc., by telephone July 28, 1999. This
is the first public notice issued by the FDA. The FDA has stated that the company
has completed all required recall procedures.
