YBL World Wide Trading, Inc. Recalls Dried Ginger

Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that YBL World Wide Trading Inc. is recalling dried ginger manufactured by Reignever Ltd. and packaged in 3.5-ounce flexible plastic bags.  The product contained the unapproved color additive, Ponceau 4R.

According to the FDA, approximately 51 cases were distributed in New York and bear no codes.  The firm estimates none remains on the market.

This Class II recall was initiated by YBL World Wide Trading Inc. by telephone on February 22, 1999.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
