Club Chef, Inc. Recalls Shredded Lettuce that Contain Glass Pieces

Cincinnati, OH (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Club Chef, Inc. is recalling Shredded Lettuce, in 4-pound plastic bags, because the product may contain pieces of glass.

According to the FDA, approximately 562 cases of the lettuce were distributed in Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia and New York.  The package bears the code 29929 P/O MAR 10 U/T MAR 19 GSCC XX.

This ongoing Class II recall was initiated by Club Chef, Inc. by telephone on March 15 and 16, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
