Recalls Flaky Nut Rugelech and Lace Cookies
Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Weiss Home Made Kosher Bakery is recalling Flaky
Nut Rugelech and Lace Cookies, because the label states that the product contains
"ground nuts" but does not specify the type of nuts in the product.
According to the FDA, approximately
56 cases were distributed. The Flaky Nut Rugelech, packaged in 12-ounce rigid
plastic containers, were sold in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. They were not able to
determine the distribution of the Lace Cookies, which are packaged in 12-ounce rigid
plastic containers. Neither of the products display any codes.
This Class III recall
was initiated by Weiss Home Made Kosher Bakery by telephone on February 22, 1999.
This is the first public notice issued by the FDA. The FDA stated that the company
has completed all required recall procedures.
