Recalls Assorted Fancy Cookies
Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Weiss Home Made Kosher Bakery is recalling
assorted fancy cookies with sprinkles, packaged in 12-ounce rigid plastic
containers, because the product contains undeclared FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C
Yellow No. 6, FD&C Red No. 3, FD&C Red No. 40, and FD&C Blue No. 1.
According to the FDA, approximately
44 packages were distributed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and bear no codes.
This Class II recall
was initiated by Weiss Home Made Kosher Bakery by letter faxed on March 15, 1999.
This is the first public notice issued by the FDA. The FDA stated that the company
has completed all required recall procedures.
