Brooklyn, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Bedessee's Imports, Inc. is recalling Bedessee's
Marque West Indian Queen brand Kola Champagne des Kolas, in 7-ounce bottles. The
product, manufactured by Good-O Beverages, Inc. of Bronx, New York, contains undeclared
FD&C Yellow No. 5 and FD&C Red No. 40.
According to the FDA, approximately
156 were distributed in New York and Canada and bear no codes.
This Class II recall
was initiated by Bedessee's Imports, Inc. on by letter March 11, 1999. This is the
first public notice issued by the FDA. The FDA stated that the company has completed
all required recall procedures.
