Rosa Maria Bakery Brand Italian Cookies Recalled

Staten Island, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that 96 Vreeland Street Corporation, doing business as Rosa Maria Bakery, is recalling Rosa Maria Bakery brand Italian Cookies (with sprinkles), packaged in 16-ounce rigid plastic containers.  The product contained undeclared FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Red No. 3, and FD&C Blue No. 1.

According to the FDA, approximately 200 pounds of the cookies were distributed in New Jersey and bear no codes.

This Class II recall was initiated by Rosa Maria Bakery by telephone on by visit on August 3, 1999.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
