Products Recalled for Undeclared Colors
Tacoma, WA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Northern Fish Products, Inc. is recalling
Northern brand Kippered Fish products, because the products contain undeclared FD&C
Yellow No. 6 and FD&C Red No. 3.
The recalled fish products are:
a) Kippered Fish (Halibut, Salmon, Black Cod), packed 4/10lb/case
b) Kippered Salmon Snacks, packed 4/5 lb./case
c) Kippered Salmon Tips, packed 4/10 lb./case
d) Kippered Salmon Chunklets, packed 4/5 lb./case
e) Kippered Salmon, packed 4/5 lb./case
f) Kippered Halibut, packed 4/5 lb./case.
According to the FDA, approximately
12,000 pounds of the fish were distributed in Washington state, Oregon, and California.
The recalls affects the codes of

was initiated by Northern Fish Products, Inc. by telephone February 16-18, 2000, and by
letter dated February 18, 2000. This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
The FDA states that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
