Stirling Foods, Inc. Recalls Vanilla Espresso Flavoring

Kent, WA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Stirling Foods, Inc. is recalling Gourmet Flavors French Vanilla, syrup used to flavor espresso drinks, because the product may be contaminated with yeast.

According to the FDA, approximately 47,000 pounds were distributed nationwide and bear the codes 01-18-99 through 05-30-99.

This Class III recall was initiated by Stirling Foods, Inc. by telephone in mid-April 1999.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA has stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
