Mrs. Smith's Bakeries, Inc. Recalls Sysco 10" Pumpkin, Sweet Potato and Southern Pecan Pies

Suwanee, GA (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Mrs. Smith's Bakeries, Inc. is recalling Sysco 10" TNS Pumpkin Pie 1488469, Sysco 10" TNS Sweet Potato Pie 2011955, and Sysco 10" TNS Southern Pecan Pie 1020718 because the products contain undeclared dairy and egg ingredients.

Over 43,000 pies, manufactured by Flowers Baking Company of, Spartanburg, South Carolina and Daniel's Home Bakery, Pembroke, North Carolina, bearing all code dates are affected by this nationwide recall.

This Class I recall was initiated by Mrs. Smith's Bakeries, Inc. by letter on December 2 and 3, 1999.   This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The FDA has stated that the company has completed all required recall procedures.
