Recalls Ice cream, Sorbet and Tofu
Wooster, OH (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) today reported that Woo City Ice Cream Company is recalling certain
Ice cream, sorbet and tofu flavors because these products contain undeclared colors.
The recalled ice cream and tofu was
sold in 1-pint containers of Woo City ORGANIC Mint Marble Ice Cream and Woo City ORGANIC
WOO FU Banana Fu (banana tofu). These products contain undeclared FD&C Yellow
No. 5. Product. The banana tofu contains undeclared FD&C Red No. 3, FD&C Red
No. 40 and/or FD&C Blue No. 1.
The recalled sorbet flavors are Woo
City ORGANIC SORBETO Ruby Grapefruit and Woo City ORGANIC SORBETO Lime & Coconut
(sorbet). These products contain undeclared FD&C Red No. 3, FD&C Red No. 40
and/or FD&C Blue No. 1.
This recall affects over 800 units,
distributed from November 1999 through mid-January 2000 in Ohio.
This ongoing Class III recall
was initiated by Woo City Ice Cream Company by telephone beginning February 1, 2000.
This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
