Jewel Bake Shop 12-Count Mini Danish Rolls Recalled for Undeclared Peanuts and Other Allergens

Melrose Park, IL (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Jewel Food Stores is recalling certain Jewel Bake Shop 12-Count Mini Danish Rolls, because the product contains undeclared peanuts, filberts, cashews, walnuts, pecans, almonds, coconut, and chocolate chips.

According to FDA, an undetermined number of the 15-ounce retail packages were distributed in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Wisconsin.  The recalled products bear the Sell Thru dates of 12/2/99 through 12/13/99.

This ongoing Class I recall was initiated by Jewel Food Stores, by E-mail in December of 1999.  Although the notice states a press release was issued on December 10, this is the first public notice issued by the FDA.
