Velda Farms Recalls Lemon Flavored Drink

Miami, FL (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today reported that Velda Farms is recalling their Lemon Flavored Drink, in 16-ounce cartons, because the product contained undeclared FD&C Yellow #5.

According to FDA, 19,979 units were distributed in Florida.  All non expired product are covered by the recall. The FDA has stated that all products, including expired products, were recovered if found outside Velda Farms.  At the time of the recall, the following codes were involved: JAN 04 12-283, JAN 13 12-283, JAN 21 12-283, JAN 27 12-283, FEB 12 12-283 and FEB 18 12-283.

This Class II recall was initiated by Velda Farms by visit January 4-6, 2000.  This is the first public notice issued by the FDA.  The firm estimates none remains on the market.
