TX (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Frito-Lay, Inc. is recalling certain Lay's brand
Classic Potato Chips because certain bags labeled as "Classic Potato Chips" may
actually contain "Sour Cream and Onion Potato Chips."
The "Sour Cream and Onion Potato
Chips" contain dairy ingredients which are not listed on the "Classic Potato
Chips" products label.
This is the first public notice of
this Class II
issued by FDA.
Lay's brand Classic Potato Chips, in 5 1/2 ounce bags.
Frito-Lay, Inc., Fayetteville, Tennessee.
Frito-Lay, Inc., Plano, Texas, by visit beginning August 22, 2000. Firm-initiated recall
Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia.
231 cases or 2,772 packages were distributed.
