Drug Administration (FDA) said today that Dollar Plus Inc. is recalling Artrain brand Face
Paints because the product may contain the following undeclared and uncertified color
sunset yellow FCF (certifiable as FD&C Yellow No. 6 - not
allowed for coloring cosmetics intended for use in the area of the eye),
tartrazine (certifiable as FD&C Yellow No. 5),
allura red AC (certifiable as FD&C Red No. 40).
This is the first public notice of
this Class II
recall issued by FDA.
Artrain brand Face Paints, 6 colors and a brush on a card.
Undetermined. Product of China.
Dollar Plus, Inc., Everett, Washington, by telephone on or about August 28, 2000.
