1991, 1993 and 1994 Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth Mini-vans  Recalled

Washington, DC (SafetyAlerts) - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration today published the recall of certain 1991 and 1993-1994 Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan and Plymouth Voyager/Grand Voyager   manufactured between August 1990 - June 1994 because the liftgate support attaching bolts can break resulting in the liftgate falling unexpectedly, which could cause personal injury to someone standing under it.

Approximately 1,800,000  vehicles are affected by this recall.

Dealers will inspect the liftgate support attaching bolts and install larger washers on the attaching bolts.

Owner notification began during August 1999 with the 1991 model year vehicles and will be phased over the next several months for the 1993 and 1994 model year vehicles.

Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.

affected by one of these posted recalls be sure and
write down the NHTSA
