Irvine, CA (SafetyAlerts) - Kia Motors of America today announced a voluntary recall of 1998 and 1999 Sephia compact sedans to replace the wire harness on the fuel pump connectors.

The defective connections may cause the fuel pump to stop working causing the car to stall.  It is possible that the car inadvertently stopping could cause an accident.

According to reports over 100,000 Sephias will be recalled to repair this problem.  Owner notification should begin shortly.
