Basic Comfort's Galaxy 2000 Booster Seat Recalled

Washington, DC (SafetyAlerts) - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has published the recall of Basic Comfort Galaxy 2000 Booster Seat Model 960 and 961, with back, manufactured between November 25, 1998, to January 31, 1999.  These seats were improperly manufactured with defective backs and cushions which are weaker in strength.

In the event of a vehicle crash, the child seat backs and cushions can completely separate. These seats do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, "Child Restraint Systems."

Consumers will be sent free replacement parts and installation instructions.
