1997-1999 BMW M3 Series Automobiles Recalled
Woodcliff Lake, NJ (SafetyAlerts) - BMW of North America
has today issued a recall of certain 1997-1999 M3 Series automobiles equipped with a side
airbag. The recall is being conducted because of possible software problems that
have caused inadvertent deployment of the side airbags.
BMW has received reports of minor injuries
associated with this problem but is not aware of any accidents caused by the unnessacary
deployment of the side bags.
Approximately 17,00 vehicles are affected by this
Owner notification of this recall is scheduled to
begin later in January. Owners with question or concerns should call their local BMW
Dealer or BMW at 1-800-831-1117.
