- Big Dog Has Recalled the 2002 BMD because a
fuel valve's outlet nipple.
Potential Number of Units Affected: 462
Manufactured: 07/2001 - 11/2001
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. A FUEL VALVE'S OUTLET NIPPLE, TO WHICH THE
FUEL LINE ATTACHES, MAY PULL OUT OF THE FUEL VALVE, ALLOWING FUEL TO EXIT
ONTO THE MOTOR AND PRIMARY DRIVE.
FUEL SPILLAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL (SHUT OFF) VALVE. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS
EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN
AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE
REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT BIG DOG AT 1-316-267-2597.
