- Big Dog Motorcycles Has Recalled the 2002
Boxer, Husky, and Pitbull because the fuel tanks may have been improperly
mounted to the motorcycle.
Potential Number of Units Affected: 356
Manufactured: 07/2001 - 02/2002
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE FUEL TANKS MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY
MOUNTED TO THE MOTORCYCLE. THIS CAN PUT UNNECESSARY STRESS ON THE TANK
MOUNTING TABS, CAUSING THESE TABS TO FAIL, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF FUEL
FUEL SPILLAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FUEL TANKS AND WILL REPLACE OR REMOUNT THEM AS
NECESSARY. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2002. OWNERS
WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE
DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD
CONTACT BIG DOG AT 1-316-267-2597.
