Hyundai Motor America Recalls XG300
Detroit, MI (SafetyAlerts) - The National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a recall affecting
2001 Hyundai XG300 manufactured between April - August 2001.
Number Involved: 3,255
Noncompliance: Some passenger vehicles fail to comply with the requirements
of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
These vehicles do not have the correct tire pressure placard attached.
Incorrect tire inflation pressure can damage tires, affect vehicle handling,
and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners will be provided with a correct tire pressure placard and
installation instructions. The manufacturer reported that owner notification
was expected to begin during October 2001. Owners who do not receive the
free label within a reasonable time should contact Hyundai at
[NHTSA Recall No. 01V307/Hyundai Recall No. 045]
